AstapovLawyers participated in the ICC Arbitration Rules discussions

Eugene Blinov, Counsel at AstapovLawyers International Law Group, attended the international conference «New ICC Arbitration Rules. Mock Case». The event, co-organized by the the International Court of Arbitration and ICC Russia, held in Moscow (Russia).
The conference was attended by the Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Jason Fry, Chairman of the ICC Commission on Arbitration Peter Volrich and the Deputy Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration José Ricardo Feris.
The most heated discussions were focused on overview of main changes to the ICC Rules of Arbitration, as well as such issues as improving time and cost efficiency, multi-party and multi-contract arbitration and consolidation, appointment and standards of arbitrators, etc.
The new ICC Rules of Arbitration were divulgated in September 2011. Regulations inured on January 1, 2012. The previous version of the document was in force since 1998.
