On June 30, 2010 AstapovLawyers announced that Mr. Oleh Beketov, Senior Associate and Head of International Litigation Department, was promoted to Counsel, effective July 1, 2010. This step comes as recognition of the input of Mr. Beketov in development of the firm's practice in International litigation.

Mr. Beketov is a graduate from Lviv National University, School of Law, Ukraine and he holds a master degree in international law, LL.M from American University, Washington College of Law, Washington D.C., USA.

Mr. Beketov has over 9 years of strong working experience in Central and Eastern Europe in International commercial arbitration and litigation, Commercial and civil litigation, Trade law, Corporate and Commercial law, Foreign investments. Before joining AstapovLawyers he practiced international law in such firms as Magisters, Alston & Bird LLP, Pavlenko, Statsenko & Osinchuk. Oleh also held the position of assistant to the Chair of the Committee of Parliament of Ukraine on Legal Policy where he gained rich practical experience in harmonization of Ukrainian legislation to EU legislation. He is member of Ukrainian Bar Association, Ukrainian Association of International Law and Association of Ukrainian Lawyers, and also he is a co-chair of NYSBA chapter in Ukraine.

Mr. Beketov was named among TOP-50 lawyers of Ukraine according to Yuridicheskaya Gazeta (national Ukrainian national circulation legal newspaper) annual ranking "Choice of the Client" in 2008.
