In 2009 Olympic champion in Beijing-2008, Ms. Elena Homrovaya, Ms. Olga Harlan, Ms. Galina Pundik and Ms. Elena Zhovnir, added to their collection a titles of the worlds champions and also a titles of the champions of Europe in the team competitions. In addition, the youngest, 19 years old Ms. Olga Harlan won silver medal in the individual tournament of the world forum, and Ms. Galina Pundik - bronze medal in Europe. Twice, in July and October, the National Olympic Committee recognized Olga as best athlete of the month.

Young Ms. Anfisa Pochkalova celebrated the third place of the World Championship in Antalya, Turkey, and her compatriot Mr. Ian Shemyakin - of Europe Championship in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv. There are no youth or junior tournament of the world or continental scale which were held without our medalists, so we shouldn't worry for the future of our fencing.

President of FFU, Mr. Sergey Mishchenko, awarded certificates of honor and expressed thanks from the Federation to AstapovLawyers International Law Group and personally to Managing Partner Mr. Andrey Astapov for significant contribution to development of the Fencing Federation of Ukraine.

The venue was also visited by the Deputy Minister of Family, Youth and Sports, Mr. Miroslav Dutchak, member of the Parliament Ms. Liliya Grigorovich, who is also a vice president of FFU and other dignitaries.
