AstapovLawyers participated in Baltic Sea Freight Conference

The Associate of AstapovLawyers Maritime Law and Commodities Practice attended the First International Conference "Baltic Sea Freight Market" which took place in St. Petersburg Russia on 15-17 September 2008.

AstapovLawyers' professionals regularly take part in the events of this kind both as speakers and as participants.

The Firm has broad practice in the region representing a number of vessel owners, commodity traders, financiers and insurers mostly in the commodity sector. Increasing is the Firm's practice in the area of container transportation and port related services. Our oil related and oil transshipment related practice needs to be mentioned separately.

In the course of the conference various vital issues related to the Baltic Sea Freight Market were discussed, among which are the export potential of the Baltic Sea region, development of the ports services and many others. Various legal issues of importance were raised as well.

During the formal sessions and informal discussions numerous valuable contacts were established between AstapovLawyers and Lithuanian, Greek, Cyprus, Russian and Portuguese companies.
