Ms Yashenkova is a Senior Associate with AstapovLawyers since 2008. Areas of her expertise include Banking and Financial Law, Commercial Law, Customs & Taxation, International Financing, Family Law, and Real Estate & Construction Law.
Yulia intensively advises banks and private equity funds on various credit and security arrangements, inter alia, structuring, due diligence and securing domestic and cross-border financial transactions.
Having substantial experience in representing both, the lender and the borrower, Ms Yashenkova also provides assistance in settling disputes and resolving litigations arising from debt delinquency, as well as in collateral enforcement. She also advises the clients on the issues related to customs clearance and taxation, as well as represents the clients in disputes arising therefrom.
Among the most significant Clients she advised are: Vorskla Steel Ukraine, Ancile Investment Company LTD, Rodovid Bank, Raiffaisen Zentralbank Österreich AG.
In the meantime, some of her activity pertains to rendering services in family law to private individuals. In this respect she actively advises on divorce issues, property distribution, custody, and adoption.
Before joining the firm Yulia has been working for UkrSibbank JSCIB (BNP Paribas Group) as an in-house lawyer.
After graduating with honours the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ms Yashenkova obtained her master’s degree in Laws (with honours, as well) at the Academy of Advocacy of Ukraine.
Yulia regularly participates in International Scientific Conferences, such as Annual International Conference “Days of Science in NaUKMA”, Annual International Scientific Conference of young researches at the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. In 2005 she was awarded a Diploma with Honours for creative ideas on implementing innovative technologies in NaUKMA. In 2004 Ms Yashenkova was awarded a Diploma with Honours for the quality report “Translation of Anglo-Saxon Law Terminology into Ukrainian”. In 2009, Ms Yashenkova participated as a trainer in a seminar “Reforming Corporate Governance Given Entry into Force of the Law of Ukraine “On Joint Stock Companies”. In 2010, Yulia participated in the 4th International Logistics Congress "Customs or Logistics - What Keeps back the Economic Development of Ukraine?" as a main speaker on the issues related to customs disputes.
Currently, Ms Yashenkova conducts her scientific research in international private law at the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University and participates in scientific conferences related thereto. |
