Mr Gromovoi is a Senior Associate of the AstapovLawyers and Head of team on litigation, mediation, economic and white-collar crimes. In his position Mr Gromovoi is responsible for litigation practice and quality practice’ services in Ukraine.
Oleh specializes in commercial litigations, mediation, bankruptcy proceedings, international arbitrations in Ukraine and the CIS countries. He has over seven years of experience representing national and international companies in Ukrainian and Russian high and local commercial courts, and International Arbitration Courts with the seats in Ukraine and Russia.
Mr Gromovoi joined AstapovLawyers in summer 2009. He provided legal support to a number of companies including Alfa Group, Souz-Victan, Microsoft, Danone, OBI, Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant (DEMZ), PKO/Kredobank, etc. Oleh represented one of the major taxpayers in a range of disputes with tax authorities, developed asset protecting strategies for a multinational company to be applied in the event of bankruptcy, advocated interests of foreign investors in the court proceedings versus the State Committee of Ukraine for State Material Reserve. Oleh Gromovoi has a successful track record in providing intellectual property right defence in court matters involving trade- and service marks, recognition and enforcement in Ukraine of foreign arbitral international awards and foreign judgements, and ADR in corporate conflicts.
Prior to joining AstapovLawyers, Oleh Gromovoi practiced law for three years with Stolitsa law firm successfully combining his dispute resolution practice with provision of corporate advice to Karavan Group, owner of a major national retailing network of entertainment centres and hypermarkets. In 2007, Mr Gromovoi was appointed to lead the legal department at one of the group managing companies to provide legal assistance in retailing business development, advise on tax planning matters and structuring. and during the financial crunch of 2008-2009, he extensively advised on asset protection against illegal claims by creditors. In 2005-2006, following his graduation from the Law Academy, Mr Gromovoi worked as a judicial assistant at a local commercial court.
Oleh holds a law degree (summa cum laude) from the National Law Academy of Ukraine named after Yaroslav Mudryi, and in 2008 he began practicing as a licensed attorney. Mr Gromovoi is a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association, European Criminal Bar Association and Ukrainian Union of Lawyers. |
