Tatyana Kuzmenko, Partner, leads the firm’s Banking and Finance practice. Tatyana advised on a series of transactions in the area of project and trade finance, loan raising, bond and guarantee issues as well as securitisation and subordinate debt projects.
Tatyana Kuzmenko advises and provides legal assistance to clients in terms of draft syndicated loan agreements to be made with banks, as well as on the issues of loan assignment, issuing international bonds, bank guarantees, standby letters of credit and getting comfort letters.
Ms Kuzmenko has an extensive expertise in the area of debt structuring. Whilst providing advice on regulatory matters, she offers new solutions on legal strategies and restructuring.
Tatyana actively advises on various aspects of financing to such financial institutions as Raiffeisen Bank (Austria), Ancile Fund (Switzerland), Inoks Capital (Switzerland), Eurofinasia Fund, EBRD, IFC, Rodovid Bank, Finance & Credit Bank.
In 2001 to 2003, Ms Kuzmenko was a legal and business adviser for Eastern Europe at Technology Coal Corporation (Budapest, Hungary). Tatyana was actively involved in designing projects for energy supplies and transits to Western European countries. Her functions also included settlement of commercial and administrative disputes.
From 1999 till 2001, Ms Kuzmenko was giving legal advice on international corporate law, tax planning, foreign trade transactions and financial settlements at Chernyavskiy and Partners Law Firm.
Tatyana also dealt with real estate, construction and infrastructure development investments while she was working at MBI, an international company, from 1998 till 1999. She provided advice on major construction projects and participated in international negotiations discussing project finance and state guarantee issues.
Tatyana is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce, European Business Association, bar associations and professional unions.
Since 2006, Ms Kuzmenko has been actively cooperating with the World Bank. Tatyana’s contributions to the partnership development were awarded by a number of the World Bank’s Certificates of Appreciation.
Ms Kuzmenko was named a prominent expert in banking and finance by Handbook for Foreign Clients 2009 and 2010 published by Yuridicheskaya Practika Publishing House.
Ms Kuzmenko holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Financial Law, University of London; a LL.M. degree (magna cum laude), Taras Shevchenko National University, 2003; and a University degree in Law, University of Industry and Business Administration, Ukraine, 1996.
